Te Pākau

Te Pākau is Whau Valley School's Learning Support Centre. We have a wide range of activities and spaces to support and include a
differentiated way of learning. Every child deserves to learn in their own way, to the best of their abilities. At Te Pākau we thrive
on letting the tamariki explore their interests and focus on what they need to succeed.

Te Pākau (pronounced parco) symbolizes a wing—whether of a bird, a building, or an army. The name reflects the idea that this class brings together tamariki from both Ngā Kiwi and Ngā Kererū syndicates. Just as wings allow a bird to take flight, Te Pākau is a space where students can stretch and strengthen their learning, preparing to soar with confidence and independence. The classroom itself serves as an extended wing of both syndicates, supporting and connecting them in their shared journey.
