Whau Valley School is now an official Enviro-school, and is working toward making our school cleaner, healthier, greener and providing a sustainable environment for future generations. A place we all feel proud of.

The Enviro School Aim:

To foster a generation of people who instinctively think and act sustainably.

Sustainability has many different interpretations.

To us it means living in a country where people work with positive energy to connect with each other, their cultural identity and their land, to create a healthier, peaceful, more equitable society.

It means the regeneration of resilient, connected communities in which people care for each other and the environment.

It means valuing indigenous knowledge and celebrating diversity so that everyone thrives.

We believe this can be achieved if we learn together in empowering and action oriented ways.

Environmental Awareness Poster Competition

This was an idea from Ben that was thought up in an Enviro Group meeting. They decided that it would be a good idea to promote caring for our environment in a visual way to display around our school.

All middle and senior classes jumped on board and the entries were all informative. The work put into them was impressive. They will be displayed around the school for visitors to view.
