Tena tatou katoa. I’m extremely proud to be Principal at Whau Valley School, the coolest place to learn! My wife and I enjoy quality time with our whanau of five children. This includes travelling locally and abroad to provide life long family experiences before they leave the brood. I am a staunch Warrior fan. I also enjoy social tennis and league and am a nifty cook when I get the chance. Mauri ora.

Kia ora.  I started at Whau Valley in 1994.  I now share my time between teaching the New Entrants in Room 1 and being Deputy Principal.  I have 2 delightful school aged children.  In my spare time I like to watch my children play sport (hockey and soccer) and enjoy listening to all kinds of music.

Adrienne Toko

Kia ora.  I have been at Whau Valley for 3 years, spending most of my time in Room 1.  I have 4 adult children and 8 lovely grandchildren.  A bonus with my job is that I get to see 3 of my grandchildren everyday as they attend WVS.  In my spare time I enjoy reading, watching movies, gardening and listening to music.

Karlene Smith

Kia ora.  I am job sharing in Room 4 this year.  I have taught at Whau Valley School in a variety of roles for the past 11 years.  I live on a farm with my husband and 2 young children.  I enjoy all sports, especially hockey, which I still play.

Tena koutou katoa. This is my first year at Whau Valley School, and what an awesome start it has been! I am currently teaching one of the senior syndicate classes. My class keeps me busy at work, my two girls keep me busy at home. Thanks for the great welcome Whau Valley community, I’m looking forward to working with you!

Michelle Evans

I have been teaching for almost 6 years, this year I am taking a break from full time teaching in a classroom and training to become a reading recovery teacher, which is extremely rewarding.  I will also be taking a break from school altogether as my husband and I await the arrival of our first child, due in July.  I look forward to popping back into Whau Valley school as a reliever during my maternity leave and catching up on the exciting ‘going’s on’ throughout the school.

Steve Jenkins
